What is the DAO Association Regime (DARe)?
One of the key highlights of RAK DAO 2024 was the presentation of the DAO Association Regime (DARe), a new legal framework aimed at regulating and fostering the growth of DAOs in the Ras Al Khaimah free zone. DARe offers two structural models for DAOs: one for emerging projects with fewer than 100 members, and another for more mature DAOs with treasuries exceeding one million dollars. This initiative aims to provide legal clarity and tax optimization for decentralized organizations, enabling them to interact both within the blockchain world and externally, facilitating operations such as opening bank accounts and owning assets.
